This week’s playbook audible comes from last week’s show with Dr. Cynthia Boccara, episode number 64. One of the biggest takeaways Cynthia shared was about how to be more effective and productive by paying better attention to our posture.
One of the questions she asked was, how much are you sitting each day?
So Team PYP, how are you doing with becoming more aware of how often your butt is in a chair, on a sofa, or in the car? How could you decrease your sitting time by even 5% a day?
One of the ways I’ve become more aware of my sitting time is by using a timer when I do tasks on the computer. I allow myself 30 minutes max of sitting before I get up and move around for at least 5 minutes, but often more like 10 or 15. Walking, swinging my arms back and forth, and a few quick stretches of my quads and hamstrings leave me feeling refreshed and ready to get back to work.
I encourage you to make a point this week of getting up from your seat more often and paying attention to how you feel as a result. Dr. Cynthia wasn’t lying when she said at the end of the day, the body always wins. Simple shifts can make a big difference!
See what difference you can make by moving a little bit more and sitting a little bit less.
